Hours: 2nd: 4:15pm - 2:45am
We are seeking a Flame Cut / Kinetic Operator for 2nd shift in Rockford, IL. In this role, you will play a crucial role in machine material processing based on production orders, ensuring high-quality production of parts for our client's diverse customer base. You will operate cutting-edge equipment to meet precise specifications and be responsible for producing parts efficiently and accurately. This is a temp to hire position, although our client may consider immediate direct hires depending on experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Production Order Management:
-
Review production tickets thoroughly, paying attention to customer details, special instructions, sizes, lengths, quantities, cutting dimensions, tolerances, and heat numbers (if applicable).

Verify the production order and any special instructions before proceeding.

Address any questions or clarifications with the supervisor or lead.

Setup & Tooling:

Identify and set up the required tools (e.g., drills, taps, tips, torches).

Load the appropriate program number into the controller and simulate the tool path to ensure accuracy.

Production Process:
-
Process parts and ensure they meet all print requirements.

Conduct 1st-piece inspections to verify quality, and continue production once the part meets specifications.

Documentation & Shipping:

Record all required information on the work order.
-
Print shipping tags, attach them to products, and ensure proper packaging for shipment.

Competencies:

Technical Skills:
-
Forklift or crane operator experience is a plus.
-
Experience with kinetic or plasma cutting is advantageous.

Proficiency in reading a tape measure and using AS400 computers.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
-
High school diploma or GED preferred.
-
1-3 months of related experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Forklift or crane operator experience is a plus.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.

Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

Ability to follow detailed instructions with common sense understanding.
