Position Summary:
The CNC Programmer Manager will be responsible for overseeing and executing programming for our CNC machines, including lathes, mills, 5-axis mills, and live tool lathes. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills and deep technical expertise in CNC programming, fixture design and development, and CAD/CAM systems.
Key Responsibilities:

Program CNC machines (lathes, mills, live tool lathes, and 5-axis mills) using CAD/CAM software

Design and build custom fixtures and work-holding devices for new and existing parts

Oversee machining operations primarily for aluminum castings, with some work involving iron and steel castings

Optimize machining processes for speed, accuracy, and repeatability

Troubleshoot issues with machining, programs and equipment

Lead and mentor a small team of CNC machinists and operators

Work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure smooth workflow and part accuracy

Ensure adherence to quality standards and safety protocols
Qualifications:
-
Proven experience programming CNC machines including 5-axis mills and live tool lathes

Proficient in designing and building fixtures and custom work-holding solutions

Strong experience with AutoCAD, CAD/CAM software (e.g., SmartCAM, Mastercam, Fusion 360, or equivalent)

Hands-on experience machining aluminum castings

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Strong leadership and communication skills

Minimum 5+ years of CNC programming experience; management experience a plus
Preferred Qualifications:

Extensive real-world experience in CNC programming, machining, and fixture development is highly valued and may be considered in place of formal education

A Highschool diploma or equivalent is required

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is a plus but not required
