The Nevada Department of Public Safety, Records, Communications & Compliance Division (RCCD) is seeking a temporary Research and Data Entry Clerk to join our Criminal Records Unit. In this role, you will assist in maintaining and entering criminal history records into our state Computerized Criminal History (CCH) system. The records you will manage are submitted by law enforcement agencies throughout Nevada and are used for criminal justice, licensing, and employment determinations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Data Entry: Accurately enter court dispositions associated with arrests into the CCH system.
  • Research: Perform research to ensure the accurate entry of criminal history data.
  • File Management: Pull and re-file criminal fingerprint cards in numeric sequential order.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Collaboration: Work with co-workers and supervisory staff to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of data entry.

Qualifications:

  • Detail-Oriented: Must have strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in data entry and record management.

  • Attendance: Strong attendance is essential; we ask that candidates commit to the shift for which they are hired.
  • Ability to Work Independently: Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of accuracy.
  • Interest in Criminal Justice: An interest in learning about the criminal justice system is a plus.
  • Clerical Skills: Ability to perform basic clerical tasks such as filing and data entry.
