General Objectives: Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Warehouse Technician typically works a 4x10 schedule. The warehouse Technician assists with material handling functions and collaborates with departments and vendors to provide both tactical and strategic support for the needs of the mine to operate in an effective, efficient and safe manner. Key Areas of Responsibilities & Duties: The responsibilities of the Warehouse Technician include but are not limited to the following: • Unloads all items from delivery trucks as needed by using fork lift, pallet jack or physical lifting in order to expedite receiving process. • Checks items delivered against manifest by inspecting and counting goods received and by signing and noting any discrepancies or damage to verify accuracy and condition of shipments. • Stores goods received in designated areas allowing for speedy and efficient retrieval of items. • Verifies type and quantity of items received with information in inventory operating system in order to verify accuracy of goods received and inventory information. • Conducts periodic cycle counts and annual inventory by visual inspection and counting of items stored in warehouse in order to maintain accurate inventory records. • Identifies, moves and stores hazardous materials in compliance with government, company and vendor guidelines in order to ensure the safety of employees and company property. • Performs duties and activities in a manner that conforms to all safety practices and other policies, procedures and standards that are established by the company or required by law. • Keeps warehouse areas in a clean, safe and orderly manner. • Responsible and accountable for the performance, and compliance of mine site safety and environmental policies and procedures for all personnel and vendors. • Participate in Planned General Inspections. • Provide safety and environmental leadership by always setting a good example. • This role requires frequent interaction with department employees, supervision, management and vendors on a regular basis to provide assistance, service and support. • Ability to build trust and develop great working relationships with site personnel and regulatory agencies. • Ability to provide strong leadership and act as an effective change agent. • Ability to interact with all departments or groups as needed, for problem resolution. Minimum Qualifications and Skill Requirements: • A valid driver’s license is required in order to retrieve items from vendors as needed which requires traveling on public roads. • Ability to read and comprehend shipping documents, labels, Material Safety Data Sheets, etc. • Ability to perform basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply and divide) in order to conduct physical inventory counts and audits. • Ability to write legibly in order to complete shipping and receiving forms and related inventory records. • The willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions. • Ability to safely lift 50 pounds. • General computer skills. • A good work ethic with the ability to work well with company and vendor personnel. Additional Qualifications and Skill Requirements: • Experience working in a wholesale, manufacturing or auto/equipment parts warehouse environment preferred. • Experience working with computerized inventory control systems preferred. • Knowledge of warehouse inventory procedures preferred. • Knowledge of mining equipment and mining equipment parts
