Champaign County Maintains industrial equipment for production. Performs general preventive maintenance program on manufacturing equipment to ensure equipment stays in good running order. Trouble shoots issues with equipment to determine the best method of repair. Supports safety protocols to ensure safety of oneself and all employees while performing defined duties. REQUIREMENTS: Would like to see candidates with hands-on experience in both fabricating and industrial maintenance. Duties and Responsibilities: • Perform general maintenance of mechanical equipment, • Perform maintenance of electrical systems • Assist in the setup of new manufacturing equipment • Repair and maintenance of older equipment. Required Skills/ Abilities: • General Mechanical knowledge of building systems • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills • Ability to identify issues and determine repairs that are needed. • Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods • Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices • Manual dexterity and problem solving skills • Experience in a manufacturing environment. Potential hazard exposures may include: performing awkward or strenuous movements, chemical exposure, noise, heat, cuts or abrasions from using power tools, work environment includes forklifts and other material handling equipment, pinch points near machinery, (painters – fumes, welders – burns from torches)
