Screw Machine Operator

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a Screw Machine Operator for a long-term position with a high-precision screw machine shop in Hillsboro, OR. The person in this position will perform high-precision production lathe work with parts up to 1 5/8” in diameter, serving industries such as medical, electronics, agriculture, and dental.

Pay: $25–$28/hour

Screw Machine Operator Responsibilities:

• Operate screw machines to manufacture precision components to specification

• Set-up and monitor production runs to ensure consistent quality and efficiency

• Work with materials including steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, copper, and plastics

• Perform secondary milling and drilling operations on CNC mills (Kitamura MyCenter Zero)

• Read and interpret blueprints to ensure part accuracy

• Inspect parts using measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators

• Maintain a clean and organized work area and assist with routine maintenance

Screw Machine Operator Qualifications:

• Prior experience operating screw machines or similar production lathe equipment

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings

• Familiarity with inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators

• Experience working with a range of materials, including metals and plastics

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

• Ability to work independently and as part of a small, collaborative team
