Estimator - Plastics Industry

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking an Estimator for a long-term role with a plastics manufacturer located in Tigard, OR. The Estimator is responsible for estimating routing times, assisting project management, and for improving processes.

PAY: $29-$33/hr

Estimator Responsibilities:

• Organize quotes received from Sales or directly from customer through quoting modules.

• Promptly engage and respond to RFQ’s through quoting module.

• Support Project Management in developing timely quotations while following procedures, work instructions or additional guidelines.

• Read and interpret blueprints / Schematics / Solid models / CAD Drawings and understand GD&T’s etc

• Use SolidWorks and Mastercam software to estimate / create programs to determine complex runtimes for quoting across multiple machines 2 axis lathes with live tooling, vertical & horizontal machining centers up to 5-axis, routers and Lathes.

• Schedule and drive design reviews, build review and post mortems on larger scale projects.

• Develop and refine Processes, Work Instructions and Procedures.

• Develop and grow relationships with customers (Engineering, Buyers etc.).

• Hold meetings and prepare necessary status reports, meeting minutes, objectives and priorities to ensure project tasks are being completed in a timely fashion.

• Establish best practices to improve throughput, quality and on-time delivery.

• Identify and correct drawing redlines and part notes.

• Communicate redlines to customers.

• Recommend product design improvements for efficiency and cost savings to Customer.

• Conduct BOM Scrubs, Internal and external rework, BOM Comparisons.

• Work with PM and Sales regarding changes to the project scope and assessment of possible constraints

Estimator Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Plastics Machining, Programming & Fabrication fundamentals.

• 3+ Years programming experience.

• Skilled and organized communicator.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office, MRP/ERP software, Solidworks / CAD software, Mastercam, Fanuc M & G codes.

• Must be able to read and understand blueprints and part specifications.

• Ability to lift and carry 35 lbs.
