Madden Industrial Craftsmen is looking for an experienced and proactive Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance team in a dynamic food manufacturing environment, for our client located near Hillsboro, OR.

  • This role is responsible for the strategic planning, coordination, and execution of all maintenance activities to ensure optimal equipment performance, food safety, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the maintenance team to ensure safe, efficient, and effective operations.

  • Develop and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all equipment and utilities.

  • Ensure maintenance practices align with food safety, sanitation, and GMP requirements.

  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.

  • Manage the maintenance budget, including procurement of parts, equipment, and contracted services.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and regulatory compliance.

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, FDA, USDA, and other applicable safety and regulatory standards.

  • Oversee installation and commissioning of new equipment and systems.

  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs and improve equipment reliability.

  • Train and mentor maintenance staff on technical skills, safety procedures, and company policies.

  • Respond to emergency maintenance needs outside of regular working hours, as required.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of maintenance leadership experience in a food manufacturing or regulated industry.

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, refrigeration and PLC systems.

  • In-depth understanding of food safety and sanitation standards (GMP, HACCP, SQF, etc.).

  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, vendors, and projects.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Computer systems literacy for documentation

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and work in manufacturing environment for extended periods.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.

  • Comfortable working in various conditions, including cold or hot environments, and around food ingredients.

 

DETAILS:

  • Day shift

  • Monday – Friday

  • $80,000-$95,000/year to start

  • Minimum 10 years in manufacturing, plus a minimum of 1 year experience at Manager level and a minimum of 5 years of experience managing a significant segment of manufacturing; or any equivalent combination of education and experience required.

  • Previous experience in a Food Processing environment is preferred.
