Madden Industrial Craftsmen is looking for an experienced and proactive Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance team in a dynamic food manufacturing environment, for our client located near Hillsboro, OR.

This role is responsible for the strategic planning, coordination, and execution of all maintenance activities to ensure optimal equipment performance, food safety, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the maintenance team to ensure safe, efficient, and effective operations.

Develop and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all equipment and utilities.

Ensure maintenance practices align with food safety, sanitation, and GMP requirements.

Collaborate with production and quality teams to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.

Manage the maintenance budget, including procurement of parts, equipment, and contracted services.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and regulatory compliance.

Ensure compliance with OSHA, FDA, USDA, and other applicable safety and regulatory standards.

Oversee installation and commissioning of new equipment and systems.

Implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs and improve equipment reliability.

Train and mentor maintenance staff on technical skills, safety procedures, and company policies.

Respond to emergency maintenance needs outside of regular working hours, as required.
Qualifications:
-
5+ years of maintenance leadership experience in a food manufacturing or regulated industry.

Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, refrigeration and PLC systems.

In-depth understanding of food safety and sanitation standards (GMP, HACCP, SQF, etc.).

Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, vendors, and projects.

Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Computer systems literacy for documentation
Physical Requirements:
-
Ability to stand, walk, and work in manufacturing environment for extended periods.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.

Comfortable working in various conditions, including cold or hot environments, and around food ingredients.

Monday – Friday

$80,000-$95,000/year to start
-
Minimum 10 years in manufacturing, plus a minimum of 1 year experience at Manager level and a minimum of 5 years of experience managing a significant segment of manufacturing; or any equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Previous experience in a Food Processing environment is preferred.
