Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking Flux Core Welders to join our team in building a large work platform for our client. This project involves welding stiffener plates to strengthen beams, using fillet welds to secure them in place. Candidates will complete a weld test on their first day; if passed, they will move directly to production.
Pay: $28.36/hr - $34.90/hr
Schedule: Swing Shift — 3:30pm to Midnight M-F - Saturday potential. 2-3 weeklong project
Key Responsibilities

Perform all flux core welding, including fillet welds on stiffener plates

Work on the construction of large work platforms used for heavy piling operations

Apprentice welders: assist and learn under experienced welders, practicing fundamentals and developing skills

Experienced welders: perform high-quality welds with minimal QC corrections, maintain disciplined work practices, and manage line/lead/hose setups

Fitter-Welders: support fitting/build-out of structures and complete full welding processes

Welding Mechanics: operate and train others on shop equipment (ironworkers, drill presses, saws, mag drills, burn table, etc.), while providing input on production schedules

Maintain clean and organized work areas while following all safety best practices
Requirements

Ability to pass weld tests, including Complete Joint Penetration welds in various positions

Knowledge of weld symbols, sizes, profiles, and weld zone interpretation per drawings

Capability to set up equipment and follow Welding Procedure Specifications

Strong physical ability to handle welding/fabrication work in shop conditions

Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to safety and productivity
Preferred Qualifications

Skilled in multiple weld processes, including automatic processes

Fitter-Welders: knowledge of weld shrinkage/distortion, blueprint reading, layout, material handling, and tack welding strategies

Welding Mechanics: experience with weld sequencing, fabrication strategy, product finishing, and full-cycle ownership of projects

Familiarity with stainless steel and aluminum welding (occasional use)

Prior experience in industrial or structural fabrication environments
