Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking an experienced and driven Shop Foreman to lead our fabrication team. This role merges hands-on fabrication expertise with leadership responsibilities. The ideal candidate will manage daily operations, ensure production goals are met, uphold quality standards, and provide training and guidance to the crew across both day and swing shifts.
Shift: Monday-Friday 6am-2:30 – OT if needed
Pay: $38-42/hr DOE
Shop Foreman Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Supervision:

Supervise, schedule, and coordinate day-to-day shop floor operations across shifts

Lead, motivate, and mentor fabrication crew to meet production and quality targets

Assign tasks to stations and employees, monitor progress, and adjust schedules as needed

Train and coach new and existing employees; provide feedback and ensure skill development

Act as a liaison between crew, project managers, and upper management
-
Ensure seamless communication and workflow between Day and Swing Shifts

Maintain accountability and positive work culture in line with company values
Fabrication & Production:
-
Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and cut sheets to ensure proper build and finish
-
Oversee welding (MIG, TIG, FCAW) and finishing operations to ensure compliance with specs
-
Perform layout and fitting of materials; oversee and inspect all fabrication work

Ensure parts meet dimensional and finish specifications prior to shipping
-
Assist with hands-on fabrication when needed, including advanced and custom builds

Promote continuous improvement and suggest process and cost-saving initiatives
Shop Foreman Quality & Safety:

Ensure compliance with quality standards at each phase of production

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment in accordance with 5S principles

Verify materials and components are complete and undamaged before use

Work with QC team to address defects, improve standards, and resolve production issues
Shop Foreman Qualifications:
Required:
-
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a fabrication role, with at least 1–2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity

Proficient in welding (MIG, TIG, FCAW) and safe operation of all hand and power tools

Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written

Ability to organize, delegate, and manage multiple projects and priorities
-
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; ability to pass background check
Preferred:

Experience with advanced fabricating techniques and tight tolerance work (+/- .030”)

Knowledge of press brake, spot welding, rolling equipment, and custom finishing
-
Proficient in measuring and inspecting assemblies using standard QC tools
Shop Foreman Physical & Mental Demands:

Able to stoop, kneel, bend, and lift up to 75 pounds
