Job Title: Purchasing Specialist
Department: Kitchen
Pay Rate: $18- $21/hr.
Shift: TBD

Job Purpose: Support all purchasing activities for the organization to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of raw materials and supplies while adhering to company standards and polices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the Purchasing Agent in executing purchase orders for raw materials and supplies for the kitchen
- Coordinate with the Production team to ensure accurate inventory levels and prevent shortages or overages.
- Maintain detailed records of vendor quotes, purchase orders, and invoices using company systems (e.g. SAP, Excel)
- Track and follow up on deliveries to ensure timely receipt of goods and resolve discrepancies as needed.
- Generate and analyze procurement reports, including inventory usage and purchasing trends.
- Collaborate with the Purchasing team, Accounting team, Production team and DC Management to align purchasing activities with operational goals.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using procurement and inventory management systems (e.g. SAP or similar MRP systems).
- Basic knowledge of produce purchasing or food supply chain
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written) to liaise with internal teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting strict deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaborate in a team environment.
Education and/or Experience:
- Requires 1-2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement or a related field.
- High school diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred
Desired Skills:
- Experience in SAP accounting system preferred
- Experience in MRP manufacturing system
- Strong computer skills required; i.e., MS Office, Excel
- Detail oriented
- Analytical problem solving
Reasoning Ability:
- Must be able to interact with all levels of management and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
