Maintenance and Reliability Engineer

Scope of Position

This position provides both tactical and strategic focus to ensure the long term viability of the company’s assets. This position reports to the General Manager.

Responsibility and Authority

• Provides technical support to the maintenance team
• Leads Root Cause Failure Analysis and executes corrective actions for complex and/or repetitive problems
• Leads the Bad Actor Program and creates action plans for improving reliability
• Assist in the training and development of in-house maintenance resources
• Support the reliability process to drive improvements, optimize costs and improve Asset Effectiveness
• Establish, monitor and optimize Preventative and Predictive Maintenance Plans
• Develop disciplined and systematic equipment maintenance strategy
• Provide input to Maintenance budget and Capital Plan
• Evaluate alternatives for equipment repair seeking cost and time advantages
• Support capital projects by supplying engineering expertise as it relates to Maintenance and Reliability
• Develops Critical Equipment list
• Maintains the Spare Parts inventory for the site
• Develops and maintains the Vessel and Piping Inspection and Relief Device programs

Knowledge and Skills

• Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably a Mechanical Engineering degree.
• Applicable experience is 6-10 years in a similar operation (small company, small site, batch operation).
