In-House Attorney – Debt Collection & Property Liens

This is for a well-established industrial company known for our reliability, operational excellence, and strong business partnerships. We are currently seeking a knowledgeable and driven In-House Attorney to manage and oversee all legal collections activities, with a focus on commercial debt recovery and property lien enforcement.

In-House Attorney will take full responsibility for the company’s legal collections process. This includes drafting and sending demand letters, managing lien filings, handling lawsuits related to unpaid debts, and representing the company in court. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with significant potential for long-term growth and impact within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and send demand letters to delinquent commercial clients.

• Enforce property liens in accordance with applicable local and state laws.

• Initiate and respond to lawsuits related to unpaid invoices or breach of contract.

• Represent the company in court hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.

• Work closely with internal collections, finance, and operations teams to develop and execute recovery strategies.

• Maintain detailed documentation of all legal collection activities and case statuses.

• Provide legal advice to management on collection matters and lien procedures.

• Ensure compliance with relevant debt collection and lien laws/regulations.

Required Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

• Active license to practice law in [Insert State].

• Minimum 3 years of experience in debt collection and property lien enforcement, preferably in an industrial or commercial context.

• Solid litigation experience with a strong courtroom presence.

• Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage a high caseload with minimal supervision.
