Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Global Strategic Sourcing Manager to oversee purchasing activities and supplier management across key divisions, including Furnace Operations and Process & Field Services. This individual will play a critical role in executing procurement processes, supporting strategic sourcing initiatives, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with global procurement policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, issue, and analyze RFQs/RFPs; recommend best-value solutions.
Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to define scopes of work and technical specs.
Negotiate and define contract terms with suppliers and partners.
Evaluate and select vendors based on quality, cost, delivery, and risk factors.
Manage supplier relationships, including onboarding, compliance, and performance tracking.
Analyze spend and trends to support cost-saving initiatives and strategic planning.
Ensure compliance with global procurement policies and ISO standards.
Support cross-functional teams including Legal, Project Management, Accounting, and Risk.
Maintain and enhance supplier databases based on performance and cost metrics.
Mentor and guide less experienced team members within the procurement team.
Collaborate with international suppliers and internal stakeholders; occasional travel required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5–8 years of procurement experience, including at least 4 years in a management-level position.
- Proven track record in capital equipment/material purchasing, particularly within the A/E industry.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, contract law, and vendor inspection requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, Aconex, and other procurement tools.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure, team-oriented environment.
- High ethical standards and a continuous improvement mindset.
Preferred Experience:
- Advanced procurement strategy and supplier development experience.
- International sourcing and global supplier collaboration.
- Strong analytical skills for KPI tracking and cost-saving initiative planning.
