The Safety Coordinator position is crucial for maintaining workplace safety and security. It involves educating supervisors, managers, and leaders on health and safety standards, and providing safety training for employees. The position ensures that everyone is aware of safety procedures and company policies, helping to foster a culture of safety. Additionally, it ensures all departments comply with relevant federal and state regulations.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Help improve the companywide safety culture by enforcing policies and regulatory standards.
- Provide technical and regulatory support as needed.
- Assess job sites to ensure work can be done safely.
- Monitor field workers to ensure they complete daily and on-site safety checks.
- Assist in reporting, investigating, and documenting employee incidents and injuries.
- Communicate and implement goals, policies, and priorities to improve safety practices and performance.
- Write and submit incident/injury reports per company policy.
- Offer recommendations for safety improvements on-site.
Skills
- Basic computer applications experience with MS-Office Suite (excel, word, outlook etc.) Excellent communication and advisory skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with confidential and sensitive matters in a professional and discretionary manner.
- Proven analytical skills reflecting the ability to be proactive with ability to pay keen attention to the smallest of details.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- Bilingual a plus
Education
- High School Diploma or some college
- OSHA 30 General Industry Certification
- OSHA 10 Certification
- 40 HR. HAZWOPER
- First Aid/CPR training
Work Experience
- 2 – 4 years of related experience
Physical Requirements:
- Occasional exposure to varying environmental conditions (e.g., heat, cold, noise) and outdoor work may be required.
