Responsibilities
- Operate manual OD and ID grinders to achieve precise tolerances
- Read and use OD and ID micrometers accurately
- Dial in machines with indicators within a few thousandths
- Grind and handle parts up to 10–12 ft in length
- Perform precision grinding work per customer specifications
- Maintain a clean, organized workstation and follow all safety protocols
Requirements
- Ability to read English to understand travelers and part drawings
- Minimum 1 year of experience operating manual grinders (no CNC)
- Skilled using OD/ID micrometers and precision indicators
- Ability to operate jib or overhead cranes
- High school diploma or GED required for trainee-level candidates
- Trainees must complete at least 4 weeks of in-house training before working independently
- Trainees may purchase required hand tools through the company with weekly payroll deductions
