Job Description:

Link Staffing is seeking dependable and hardworking General Laborers to join our client's team in Channelview, TX. These are temp-to-hire positions in a busy pipe yard facility with excellent long-term career opportunities. Ideal candidates will be flexible with work hours, able to work overtime as needed, and committed to safety and reliability on the job.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures

  • Assist in securing trucks and yard racks under supervision of yard or shop lead

  • Operate hand tools and equipment such as grinders, hammers, pressure washers, and brooms

  • Support various departments and remain flexible to different work assignments

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the yard or shop

  • Ensure all tasks are completed accurately, safely, and on time

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED (required, must provide proof)

  • Previous pipe yard or pipe grinding experience is a plus

  • Must have reliable transportation

  • Must pass a background check and a 5-hour safety orientation class

  • Must submit a current resume

Skills & Abilities:

  • Dependable and punctual with good communication skills

  • Physically fit with good hand/eye coordination and eyesight

  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (standing, lifting, confined spaces)

  • Basic math, language, and reading skills; basic computer skills a plus

  • Self-motivated and safety-conscious

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to sit for extended periods in confined spaces

  • Tolerate vibrations and movement from equipment or transportation

  • Must be able to lift, carry, and perform repetitive tasks

Required PPE:

  • Must own and wear steel toe boots at all times

Compensation & Schedule:

  • Competitive hourly pay

  • Up to 60 hours per week, depending on ramp-up
