Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Forklift Driver for the Waukegan area. Must have the ability to operate both sit-down and stand-up forklifts and be willing to assist with occasional production work. This position requires a skilled driver who is able to safely handle materials in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.

 

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm

 

Pay Rate: $16/hr

Key Responsibilities:

  • Forklift Operation:
    Safely operate both sit-down and stand-up forklifts to transport materials and products throughout the warehouse and production areas. Ensure all lifting and handling activities are carried out in accordance with safety guidelines.

  • Material Handling:
    Load, unload, and move products from storage areas to production lines or shipping areas. Organize materials in designated locations to ensure efficient access and minimize handling time.

  • Production Support:
    Assist in production activities when needed, including packing, labeling, or preparing food products for shipment. Help maintain a smooth workflow on the production line and assist with material replenishment.

  • Inventory Management:
    Assist with inventory control by accurately recording materials moved in and out of storage. Perform basic stock checks to ensure accurate inventory levels, and communicate any discrepancies to the supervisor.

  • Safety Compliance:
    Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and procedures. Participate in safety meetings and proactively maintain a safe and clean working environment.

  • Quality Assurance:
    Ensure that materials and products are handled in compliance with quality standards. Report any damaged or defective products to the supervisor or quality control team.

  • Facility Maintenance:
    Conduct routine inspections of forklifts and other equipment, reporting any issues for timely repairs. Keep forklifts in good working condition and ensure they are fueled, charged, or maintained as necessary.

  • Documentation:
    Maintain accurate records of material movements, including the proper use of inventory software or manual logs. Record quantities, lot numbers, and any relevant data as required.

 

Working Conditions:

  • The job will be performed in a warehouse and production environment where food products are handled.

  • Occasional lifting of heavy materials up to 50 lbs.

  • The position requires standing, walking, and operating forklifts for extended periods.
