The Client Support Specialist is a non-supervisory position that performs administrative and case management related to the assessment and delivery of supportive self-sufficiency services to meet the needs of residents.
Essential Functions:
The position duties and responsibilities listed below describe the general nature and scope of work. Other responsibilities, duties, and skills may be required and assigned, as needed. These essential functions require presence in the workplace on a regular basis and regular attendance must be maintained.
- Coordinates marketing materials and presentations to obtain outside resources and vendors.
- Provides professional case management practices, including appropriate communication and contact with participants, information and referral, tracking and record keeping, goal setting, positive reinforcement, follow-up, and evaluation.
- Maintain food programs such as meal services, commodities, and/or Snap Pantry. Ensures all program requirements are met to include documentation, safety, distribution, and maintaining schedules.
- Coordinates and communicates information for resident activities.
- Conducts routine home evaluations, office interviews, and/or telephone contacts. Collects and compiles information in order to generate various statistical and narrative reports.
- Maintains ongoing monitoring and evaluation of program participation, including tracking, monitoring, and records management.
- Establishes linkages and effective partnerships with community based organizations, businesses, government agencies, and philanthropic organizations in order to support resource development and effective programming.
- Maintains a working knowledge of Opportunity Home policies and procedures to assure residents have a clear understanding of changes that may affect their residency.
- Performs clerical and data entry duties required to support the activities of the position. Maintains accurate information for input in software used to track participant progress and status, as well as documentation in tenant files.
- The role requires regularly lifting 25 to 30 lbs, as the individual will frequently move food boxes and commodities from vehicles to units.
- Given that Sunshine and Pecan are senior properties, prior experience in case management or supporting the senior population would be highly beneficial.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
One (1) year of college or university with coursework in Social Services or a related field.
An additional two (2) years of experience working in social services, public housing, or non-profit housing may be considered in lieu of the education requirement.
Must have the ability to learn and use cloud applications such as Google GSuite applications to include but not limited to: Google Chrome Browser, Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Docs, Sheets and Slides.
Successful completion of a criminal history background check, education, and work history verification, and drug screening test.
Education/Certification Requirement
Two (2) years of experience working in social services, public housing, non-profit or senior housing.
Must have the ability to learn and use cloud applications such as the Google GSuite applications to include but not limited to: Google Chrome Browser, Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Docs, Sheets and Slides. Understanding document sharing and collaboration in the cloud. Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, cloud accessible applications to include but not limited to: One drive, Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint or MAC or PC desktop equivalent is acceptable.
Successful completion of a criminal history background check, education, and work history verification, and drug screening test.
CPR Certification: The ideal candidate will be CPR certified, or willing to become certified. COSA can assist the new employee in obtaining this certification.
Working Environment
Indoor work and outdoor in the field, operating computer, manual dexterity, talking, hearing, repetitive motion. Use of personal computer equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business related events.
Physical and Mental Requirements
