Day 1:  2 hour training
Day 2: 12 to 15 hour day. 

Rate of Pay:

$17.00 hourly

 

Summary:

The Event Operations Staff plays a crucial role in ensuring a positive and efficient experience for all event attendees from arrival to departure. This multifaceted position encompasses responsibilities related to admissions, guest services, and attendee flow management. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be committed to providing exceptional service in a dynamic outdoor environment.


Responsibilities:

Admissions & Ticketing:

  • Greet all attendees with a friendly and welcoming demeanor at entry points.
  • Verify the validity of event tickets (printed or digital) using provided scanning devices or visual inspection.
  • Process ticket sales (if applicable) accurately and efficiently using provided point-of-sale systems.
  • Accurately count each attendee entering the event using a manual or electronic clicker.
  • Ensure that each attendee has a valid ticket or credential before entry.
  • Assist with distributing wristbands or other access credentials.
  • Report clicker counts and any ticketing discrepancies to the designated supervisor.


Hospitality & Guest Services:

  • Serve as a point of contact for attendee inquiries and provide accurate information about the event, including schedules, directions, amenities, and services.
  • Proactively approach attendees to offer assistance and ensure their needs are met.
  • Assist attendees with wayfinding and directions within the event venue.
  • Provide information on accessibility services and assist attendees with special needs.
  • Handle minor guest concerns and complaints professionally and escalate more complex issues to the designated supervisor.
  • Maintain a visible and approachable presence throughout the event venue.
  • Assist with lost and found procedures.
  • Distribute event materials such as maps, schedules, or promotional items.


Line Management & Attendee Flow:

  • Establish and maintain orderly lines at designated areas (entrances, exits, vendors, activities, restrooms).
  • Clearly communicate instructions and directions to attendees regarding line formation and movement.
  • Ensure that lines are moving efficiently and safely.
  • Prevent line cutting and address any related issues in a polite and firm manner.
  • Provide information to attendees waiting in line, such as estimated wait times.
  • Monitor crowd density and report any potential safety concerns to the designated supervisor or security personnel.
  • Direct attendees to the correct areas and manage flow to prevent congestion.


General Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Adhere to all event policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
  • Report any issues, incidents, or observations to the designated supervisor.
  • Collaborate effectively with other event staff to ensure a seamless attendee experience.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of the event.


Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in customer service, event operations, hospitality, or a related field is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly and helpful demeanor.
  • Ability to handle cash and operate basic point-of-sale systems (training provided, if applicable).
  • Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail, especially when counting attendees.
  • Ability to problem-solve and handle guest concerns effectively.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and assertively to manage lines and provide directions.
  • Knowledge of the event layout and schedule (training provided).
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced outdoor environment, including standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
  • A positive and enthusiastic attitude.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in potentially noisy environments.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
