LOD Staffing has openings for Construction Laborer

The General Construction Laborer will be responsible for assisting plumbers with installing, repairing and maintaining plumbing systems during a new build to ensure the construction project is completed on time. The position of Laborer will perform manual labor duties related to the building of the project.

Minimum Qualifications
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
- 6 months to one year of construction experience
- Willingness and ability to perform manual work following verbal and written instructions
- Some knowledge of the proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in heavy construction work
- Some knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions
- Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
- Ability to lift heavy objects, walk, and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing
- Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely
- Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions
- Ability to meet punctuality and attendance schedule with dependability and
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and work orders.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to excavation work (OSHA standards).
Preferred Qualification
• OSHA certification preferred.
Working Environment
- This position primarily operates outdoors at various job sites in the San Antonio, Texas and surrounding area.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and sun.
- Exposure to noise, dust, and vibrations from heavy equipment.
- Work may involve uneven terrain and potential hazards associated with construction sites, including trenches, heavy machinery, and underground utilities.
- Requires the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety boots.
- The work schedule is typically full-time, Monday through Friday, but may include occasional overtime or weekend work depending on project demands.
Physical and Mental Requirements
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods.
• Ability to operate foot and hand controls precisely.
• Ability to work in various outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and dust.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and around excavations.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Visual acuity (corrected or uncorrected) sufficient to operate equipment safely and read documents.
• Hearing ability (corrected or uncorrected) sufficient to hear and understand instructions and warnings in a noisy environment.
