HVAC Shop Sheet Metal Fabricator to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for assuring our sheet metal fabrication operations run smoothly by performing the essential functions below. This person should be a collaborator who works and communicates well with people at all levels while maintaining full ownership of assigned responsibilities.

 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Learn and follow ASEI safety policy.
  • Adhere to all safety and company policies to ensure an efficient, productive, and safe working atmosphere.
  • Responsible to learn and show initiative as a shop sheet metal fabricator.
  • He/she should have the ability to work in a demanding environment.
  • Learn to measure cut and assemble ward flange and corners into a finished assembly.
  • Learn the TDC duct forming process.
  • Assemble duct and fittings.
  • Install dampers, turning vane, vane rail and sound liner in fabricated duct work.
  • Make shop stock as needed, ā€œSā€ and Drive cleat, angle, curb flashing, and strap.
  • Assure materials are recorded on stock transfer sheets.
  • Assure quality control on all fabrication sent to the field.
  • Fulfill requests for fabricated materials with special attention to priority or specific requirements.
  • Monitor needs for repair and maintenance of shop equipment and report to shop supervisor.
  • Report material needs to the shop supervisor in a timely manner to maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Clean shop and equipment as needed.
  • Uses shop stock effectively.
  • Accepts deliveries of materials and equipment when required.
  • Learn SMACNA standards and applicable codes.
  • Do other tasks when assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be able to talk, hear and sit at a desk. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and use their hands to touch, handle and feel. The employee is frequently required to reach various ranges with hands and arms, and to stoop, kneel, crouch, lift, twist, and push during fabrication. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, with assistance as needed to perform safely.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and/or CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Washington State driver's license

WORK AVAILABILITY AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Working knowledgeable of all equipment and sheet metal processes Shop area
  • Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such a level determined by management.
  • Must maintain a flexible working schedule as occasional weekend or nights.
  • Appearance must always be clean and neat.
  • Abide by safety rules and regulations, including courteous and defensive driving while operating any company vehicle or motorized equipment.
  • Maintain company tools in accordance with company policies and procedures.

The starting wage range for this position is $24 to $34 per hour, depending upon experience.
