We are currently searching for a Purchasing Agent / Junior Buyer for Fort Myers, Florida.

Purpose of position:

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials and supplies from vendors at the lowest possible cost.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The following duties are typical of those performed by employees in this job title; however, employees may perform other related duties, and not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each employee in the job title:

• Evaluate and approve vendor quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers

• Maintain updated product/vendor information

• Authorize purchase orders and "special mill" orders

• Reorder and purchase items needed for inventory replenishment

• Maintain and produce product numbers for special and standard stock items

• Manage and maintain reorder points in computer

• Act as a liaison between Sales department and vendors

• Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent – college degree preferred

• Two years of customer service or related experience

• Ability to learn products and procedures in a timely and energetic manner

• Basic math skills

• Effective problem solving ability

• Professional customer service techniques

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Persuasive negotiation techniques

• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

Salary Depends on Experience (DOE) - $20 - $25 per hour *
