Our client, a custom manufacturing company located in New Castle, DE is seeking an experienced, hands-on Fabricator/CNC Operator to lead their CNC Department. This role is ideal for a highly skilled CNC programmer/operator who thrives in a fast-paced, custom manufacturing environment and enjoys mentoring others while remaining actively involved on the shop floor.


This is a Direct-Hire Full-time, day-shift position offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.


Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC Vertical Machining Centers for standard and custom parts

  • Write, edit, and troubleshoot G & M code, including on-machine code manipulation

  • Operate and maintain CNC Vertical Mills, including Haas VF-10, VF-4, VF-3, and Fadal machines

  • Schedule machining centers based on production demands and priorities

  • Perform machine setups, teardowns, preventative maintenance scheduling, and cleaning

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot machine and tooling issues

  • Train, supervise, and support CNC machine operators

  • Fabricate custom components using steel, aluminum, and other materials

  • Operate additional shop equipment such as manual mills, lathes, press brakes, saws, drills, and related tools

  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, sketches, and technical plans

  • Collaborate with designers, engineers, and management to meet customer requirements

  • Maintain high productivity while ensuring quality and precision

  • Respond effectively to short lead-time and rush orders (overtime may be required)

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Trade school graduate or equivalent hands-on experience

  • 5+ years of CNC programming experience with Vertical Machining Centers

  • Strong proficiency with CNC programming software and machine-side editing

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks

  • Solid understanding of shop practices, tooling, and machining processes

  • Ability to accurately read blueprints, tape measures, and technical drawings

  • Strong math skills, including working confidently with fractions and decimals

  • Experience machining steel and aluminum (required)

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physically demanding shop work

  • Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
