Responsibilities: Plaintiff Litigation Paralegal (Personal Injury)
• Litify Case Management:
• Maintain a litigation caseload of ~50 - 60 matters from inception of litigation to resolution.
• Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are up-to-date and easily accessible.
• Legal Knowledge:
• Have comprehensive knowledge of relevant statutes, regulations, and case law to support attorneys in case preparation.
• Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations affecting personal injury litigation.
• Drafting and Filing:
• Prepare and draft documents, including Complaints, Pleadings, Motions, and Discovery Requests/Responses.
• Coordinate the filing (physical and e-filing) of all documents with the appropriate courts (Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Federal courts) and all relevant parties.
• Discovery Process:
• Oversee the discovery process by managing document production, conducting document reviews, and organizing relevant information.
• Prepare and respond to discovery requests, subpoenas, and other legal documents.
• Client Communication:
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and third parties as needed.
• Provide updates to clients on case status and progress.
• Trial Preparation:
• Assist attorneys in trial preparation by organizing trial exhibits, coordinating witnesses, and preparing trial binders.
• Attend trial proceedings to provide support as necessary.
• Administrative Support:
• Perform general administrative tasks, such as scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, and managing correspondence.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree, paralegal certification, or appropriate hands-on work experience;
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience as a litigation paralegal in a personal injury law firm;
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a pod system to include a Pre-Litigation Paralegal, Litigation Paralegal, and Attorney(s);
• Proficient in the use of legal case management software (Litify a plus) and Microsoft Office Suite.
