Our client, a respected property management company in Trenton, NJ, specializing in affordable housing for senior citizens, is seeking a compassionate and resourceful Social Service Coordinator. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping others, knowledgeable about community resources, and skilled in building supportive relationships with residents.

Location: Trenton, NJ
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $20/hour
Work Environment: Fully Onsite

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for residents seeking social services and support.
  • Assess tenant needs and connect them with appropriate community resources, including healthcare, mental health services, employment assistance, educational programs, and housing support.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local service providers and agencies.
  • Coordinate referrals and follow-ups to ensure residents receive necessary services.
  • Provide guidance and advocacy to help residents navigate complex systems and applications.
  • Organize and facilitate workshops, informational sessions, and wellness activities.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of resident interactions and service plans.
  • Collaborate with property management staff to support resident well-being and housing stability.
  • Monitor and report on service outcomes and resident progress.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, psychology, or a related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in social services, case management, or working with senior populations strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of local and state social service programs and resources.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to support vulnerable populations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required.
