Our client is seeking a Digitization Assistant to carry out various duties related to the Museum’s Records Management and Digitization plan including inventorying and weeding physical files and scanning and indexing museum documents into the University’s OnBase system. This position is temp for 1 year with possibility of renewal, assignment is full time, Monday-Friday.
Among the key duties of this position are
- Partnering with the Museum’s Communication & Information department to develop an understanding of the organization’s collection records (including paper and digital), retention, and access requirements or permissions
- Sorting and organizing paper files based on criteria set by the department
- Scanning and creating electronic files of designated historical documents to preserve for future reference
- Creating tags for each file in the OnBase system to make it searchable
- Re-organizing files in designated boxes and bins for shredding/recycling, on-site filing, and off-site retention
- Updating the inventory of files remaining on-site and being sent for off-site retention
- Moving banker’s boxes of files around office suite
- Performing other duties as needed

- Associate degree minimum
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with information technology as it relates to records, data centers, and digitization, i.e., databases such as OnBase and scanning software
- Background in records management, archives, library services, art history, or similar experience strongly desired
Physical requirements:
Full range of arm movement (e.g., lifting above the head); ability to do data entry, sit and stand for long periods of time; use of step ladders to reach higher shelves; ability to lift at least 30 pounds in weight on a semi-daily basis; able to push or pull up to 100 pounds on a cart; and the ability to bend, stoop, and kneel.
