CFO

Our client, a New York-based e-commerce company, is seeking a Chief Analytics & Finance Officer. The Chief Analytics & Finance Officer will take the lead on the company’s financial planning and business intelligence functions. The Chief Analytics & Finance Officer will own the financial strategy, forecasting, channel analysis, and advanced reporting necessary to uncover inefficiencies, boost profitability, and support long-term growth.

**This position is NOT REMOTE. Only candidates who are able to work fully on site in Brooklyn, NY will be considered for this role.**

This is a full-time, on site, direct hire position.

Schedule: Monday through Friday.

Pay Rate: $200,000/year

Responsibilities:

1. Build and lead a modern financial planning and analysis function with a strong emphasis on data and profitability.
2. Analyze P&L performance across platforms including Amazon, Walmart, eBay, and DTC to understand profitability at every layer.
3. Audit marketplace settlements and claims, including reimbursements, shipping deductions, and return abuse in order to identify revenue leakage.
4. Partner with operations and fulfillment to analyze shipping costs, refund trends, and chargebacks to find ways to reduce them.
5. Support inventory forecasting by aligning financial planning with sell-through rates and historical data.
6. Deliver insights into ad spend ROI and customer acquisition cost by platform and campaign.
7. Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and multi-scenario modeling to guide company strategy.

Skills and Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting or a related field required. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
2. 4 years+ experience in a senior finance or analytics leadership role, preferably in e-commerce or multichannel retail.
3. 4 years+ experience with ERP required.
4. 4 years+ experience with NetSuite, SellerCloud, ChannelAdvisor, or similar platforms preferred.
5. Deep understanding of e-commerce dynamics including marketplace settlements, returns, fees, and advertising costs.
6. Proven ability to build and lead financial modeling, forecasting, and BI.
7. Proficiency with analytics tools including Excel, PowerBI, Looker, and Tableau.
8. Ability to prioritize workload while meeting multiple requests and deadlines in a consistent and timely manner.
9. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
10. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
11. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
