Assistant Controller ($90-$100k based on experience) (looking for someone who is assertive, fast paced, good communication, multi-tasker) Description: Assistant Controller is responsible for all aspects of the Property Management accounting and budgeting, including accounting for Prospective Property costs associated with obtaining property zoning and entitlements. This position, based on the capabilities of the person, could grow into creating and maintaining prospective property profit and cash flow projections, assisting the CFO with financing and managing the capital stack. Reports to: CFO/Controller Employee Classification: Non-Exempt/Exempt Job duties will include but are not limited to: 1. Property Management & Prospect Properties review of invoices and payments a. Helps to resolve AP issues with the Accounting Coordinator b. Review Overbudgets 2. Completion of Daily Rent Receivables Report 3. Reconcile tenant security Deposits 4. Month end Entries and Review Accounts for Property Management and Prospect Properties (Prepaid, Accruals and Receivables) 5. Analyzing and Completing Trial Balances 6. Compile and Issue monthly reporting packages for investors and Executives 7. Assist with Year End Tax prep for Property Management and Prospect Properties 8. Help to prepare budgets with VP of Property Management 9. Collect Rent for Misc Property Management, Track Receivables in Collections 10. 1099/1096 Preparation 11. Assists Controller as needed 12. Growth: a. Due Diligence and Construction Projects b. Manage Draw preparation Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred but not required • 3+ years’ experience in accounting or finance • Experience in Property Management Industry • Proficiency in Microsoft Office i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook • Knowledge of accounting software (i.e. Entrata & Mark Systems) or experience with other • High level of organization and attention to detail • Strong follow-up skills
