Our client located in Trenton, NJ has an immediate need for (2) Sr. System Administrators. These are both fully on site, in person roles. No hybrid or remote work available.
Duration: 1year+
Rate: $44/hr.
Job Description:
- Design, plan, and install hardware and upgrades for a distributed Microsoft Windows-based environment.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows-based servers, desktops, and laptops.
- Experience with IBM WebSphere
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot stand-alone printers, network printers, and network multifunction devices.
- Proficiency in virtual computing technologies, including Windows and VMware solutions and security best practices.
- Experience with server, desktop, and laptop monitoring tools.
- Monitor the performance of all distributed systems and take appropriate actions to tune and optimize as needed to maximize performance throughput and minimize downtime.
- Performing system upgrades and patching to maintain security and compatibility.
- Should have an understanding of networked distributed information technology systems and computer networking protocols and technology.
- Check error logs and respond appropriately to errors logged by various distributed systems.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all errors of high severity and action taken to correct the error.
- Create/update technical information documents (TID) on hardware installation procedures, corrective action procedures, etc.
- Maintains knowledge of systems and networking-related emerging technologies and evaluates vendor products for potential use within the Higher Education Student Assistance Authority, making recommendations accordingly.
- Develop, implement, and ensure adherence to system standards/procedures for the Higher Education Student Assistance Authority and make recommendations accordingly.
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure optimal system hardware and system applications/software use.
