Accountant

Our client, a Homebuilding & Construction company in Rehoboth Beach, DE is seeking an Accountant to join their team.

Essential Duties:

• Primarily be responsible for keeping accurate and complete books & records
• Recording financial transactions in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Executing month-end close procedures in accordance with the close calendar
• Preparing & issuing financial statements for any assigned entities on a timely basis
• Performing bank reconciliations & other balance sheet account reconciliations to certify the financial statements on a monthly basis
• Compiling supporting documentation for the external auditors/tax specialists
• Responding to requests from management, teammates, customers, vendors, and other parties.

Qualifications & Skills:

• A Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required (CPA license or a desire to be a CPA is preferred)
• A minimum of two (2) years of corporate accounting or public accounting experience is required
• Experience with a modern accounting/finance system is required
• Experience in the construction industry or with project accounting is preferred
• Strong customer service, written, and oral communication skills is required
• Ability to work well under pressure, independently, and meet deadlines
• Highly motivated and proactive
• Must maintain professionalism & confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information
