Our Client in Rancocas, New Jersey is seeking a Process Technology Engineer to join their team! This is a DIRECT HIRE (not contract to hire) position with a great company! This role offers $65K-$120K based on experience level.
The ideal candidate will be at the Engineer, Lead Engineer, or Senior Engineer level. This position requires that a candidate is able to travel up to 25% of the time (domestic and international).
Job Duties:
- Supporting the sale of advanced metals processing equipment used in the aerospace and specialty alloy industry, with a focus on vacuum and controlled atmosphere melting and refining.
- Responsibility for ongoing customer support, process and product development, and technical sales support.
- Advise customers virtually and in-person on equipment troubleshooting, processing principles, operation of equipment, safety, specific material/alloy production practices, process analysis and optimization, and process control issue resolution.
- Assist in on-site equipment commissioning, customer training, and managing contractual acceptance testing including downstream metallurgical evaluation of the material produced (e.g. macro-/micro-cleanliness, grain defects, powder size/shape/yield, etc.)
- Manage the advancement of process controls, including developing new interfaces, defining control algorithms, developing process control profiles, collaborating with the Design Engineering team, and training end users on operation.
- Evaluate end-user requirements to determine equipment feasibility, evaluate final process and metallurgical acceptance criteria for equipment, and work with internal teams to recommend the engineering solutions considering technical functionality, cost, schedule, and capability.
- Assist customers with understanding highly engineered equipment by conducting process, operation, and metallurgical training, and developing related documentation.
- Advise the company community of technological trends and evaluate emerging technologies and growth opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers in the support of company's equipment alongside subsidiary company teams.
- Attend industry conferences and meetings to stay abreast of advances, maintain customer relations, and publish/present technical papers.
Requirements:
- B.S. in Materials Science & Engineering, Metallurgy, Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar. Advanced degree preferred.
- 3+/10+/15+ years of industry experience with remelting (VAR/ESR), vacuum or air melting, atomizing, casting, heat treatment, or other metallurgical processes.
- Ability to work with U.S. Export Controlled products, processes, and information.
- Self-motivated, independent, and outgoing with technical, analytical, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative international team environment while making strong individual contributions, including management and execution of projects.
- Experience in production or research and development of metals and advanced material processing including familiarity with industry specifications for materials, processing, and testing (e.g. ASTM, AMS, DIN, etc.)
- Proficiency with Office 365 products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint),
- Ability to read CAD drawings and a high-level understanding of industrial manufacturing.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time (domestic and international).
