Welder Level 1 I. REPORTS TO Department Lead, Supervisor or Manager II. PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF FUNCTION This position performs welding of O2 bosses in pre-cut hole, end caps/kit to stuffed tubes, BRK’s/Clips and welds pipes to cans and flanges. Also performs plasma cutting on O2 bosses. III. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES 1. Welds O2 bosses, end caps/kits to stuffed tubes and BRKS’s. Welds pipes to cans and flanges. Also performs plasma cutting to O2 bosses. 2. Understands the set-up of all level 1 units. 3. Clock in and out of jobs, as necessary. 4. Safely operate equipment and machinery. 5. Ensures that welding equipment is in good and safe working order. 6. Meets or exceeds set production targets where applicable. 7. Performs and records rework where applicable. 8. Report existing or potential machine problems to the Lead, Supervisor or Manager. 9. Keep area, machines, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and clear of debris. 10. Ensure that job set ups are properly set up and all components fit before beginning welding. 11. Ensure that machine safety protocols are all functional. 12. Must use correct PPE and dress safely for the job. IV. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES 1. Must demonstrate strong aptitude for welding fast and accurately. 2. Possess requisite math, writing, reading and communication skills. 3. Must demonstrate proper use of data sheets after training. 4. Data entry skills are a plus. 5. Ability to manufacture good quality product at the set rate of output. 6. Able to lift up to 50 lbs. 7. Ability to maintain production rates to department standards. 8. Ability to correctly set up and run the product in the correct order and with the required quality. 9. Ability to correctly follow and give instructions. 10. Must be able to communicate well with others and have good organization skills. 11. Ability to work consistently without constant supervision. 12. Steel-toed shoes required; no sleeveless shirts allowed. 13. Hours as assigned with the probability of overtime during the week and on Saturday. V. EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS & EXPERIENCE 1. High School Diploma or equivalent 2. Manufacturing experience a plus VI. WORKING ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL EFFORT Manufacturing Plant Environment 1. Equipment 90% of time used 2.
