Our client, a single practice medical office in Hamilton, is looking for a part time Front Desk/Receptionist.  This position is temp to perm for the right candidate.  Payrate is $18/hour.

Office Hours:

Tuesday’s: 8:00-5:00;

Wednesday’s: 8:00- 1:00

Thursday’s: 8:00-5:00


Key responsibilities:

  1. Patient check-in and check-out
  2. Greet patients, verify personal information, collect necessary paperwork, and process copayments. 
  3. Appointment scheduling
  4. Book appointments, manage cancellations and rescheduling, and confirm appointments with patients. 
  5. Insurance verification
  6. Check patient insurance eligibility, verify benefits, and obtain pre-authorizations when needed. 
  7. Medical records management
  8. Update patient demographics, file medical records electronically, and retrieve patient information as required. 
  9. Phone management
  10. Answer incoming calls, screen inquiries, and route calls to appropriate healthcare providers. 
  11. Billing and payments
  12. Process patient payments, generate invoices, and maintain accurate billing records. 
  13. Administrative tasks
  14. Maintain waiting room cleanliness, manage office supplies, and assist with other administrative duties as needed.

Required skills:

  1. Excellent communication skills: Ability to interact professionally with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies. 
  2. Strong organizational skills: Efficiently manage multiple tasks and prioritize work to maintain a smooth workflow. 
  3. Computer proficiency: Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and standard office software. 
  4. Attention to detail: Accurately input patient information and maintain accurate records. 
  5. Customer service focus: Provide a positive and welcoming patient experience.
  6. Knowledge of Athena: preferred
