Medical Billing Specialist

Our Client in Medford, New Jersey is seeking a Billing Specialist. This is an ongoing temporary position offing $24.00 - $25.00 per hour based on experience. This position can be Full Time or Part Time, and the schedule can be somewhat flexible.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and submit insurance claims to various insurance companies.
• Track and follow up on unpaid claims.
• Investigate denied claims and work towards resolution.
• Maintain accurate records of patient billing information and payments received.
• Generate patient statements and bills.
• Communicate with patients regarding their bills, co-payments, and payment plans.
• Resolve patient inquiries related to billing and insurance matters.
• Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits.
• Obtain prior authorizations as required by insurance providers.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and adherence to best billing practices.
• Work closely with physical therapists and administrative staff to ensure cohesive operations.
• Additional billing responsibilities as needed/assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Previous AR management experience is required
• Proven experience in medical billing, preferably in a physical therapy or similar healthcare setting.
• Strong understanding of medical billing software and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Excellent knowledge of insurance guidelines, coding, and billing processes.
• Familiarity with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
