Job Title: Steel Fabricator / Welder / Grinder
Location: [Insert Location, e.g., Shreveport, LA]
Pay: Steel Fabricator/Welder $22–25/hr DOE | Grinder $15/hr
Shift: Monday-Friday, 5AM-3:30PM

We are seeking a versatile Steel Fabricator / Welder / Grinder to join our team. This role requires someone who can handle both steel fabrication/welding and grinding tasks efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will have experience or a willingness to learn in both areas. Responsibilities for each role are outlined below.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Steel Fabricator / Welder Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret detailed shop orders, including drawings and blueprints
• Perform welding operations in accordance with weld specifications, primarily MIG welding
• Cut pipe fittings using torches and prepare them for welding
• Ensure quality workmanship and meet customer specifications consistently
• Work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, following company safety standards
• Follow written and verbal instructions carefully
• Perform other duties as assigned by Department Supervisor

Grinder Responsibilities:

• Heat and grind fittings to ensure proper fit and finish
• Operate grinding equipment to remove weld slag, burrs, and shape metal surfaces
• Inspect parts for defects and proper finish quality
• Maintain grinding tools and equipment in good condition
• Assist with surface preparation and finishing tasks as required
• Follow safety procedures related to grinding equipment

Qualifications:

• Previous MIG welding experience and cutting with torch required
• Experience working with steel and carbon steel materials
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and complete projects accordingly
• Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude
• Proficiency with various fabrication and grinding tools and equipment
• Ability to multitask and work independently
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
