Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Computer Operator to manage high-volume print jobs, assist with batch job processing, and perform basic computer file management. This role is ideal for someone with experience in copy services or data center environments who can handle large print jobs and operate multiple copier machines efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Process and prepare large volumes of printed materials (e.g., flyers, pamphlets, booklets, brochures) for departmental pickup.
Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain copier machines and peripheral hardware.
Monitor and control batch processing jobs and ensure accurate output.
Move, organize, and manage computer files as part of batch workflows.
Perform job setup, balancing, and verification of batch processes.
Troubleshoot hardware issues with peripheral equipment and escalate if needed.
Maintain logs and production records for print and batch operations.
Follow detailed written and verbal instructions accurately.
Preferred Experience:
Experience working in a high-volume print or copy services role.
Familiarity with running batch jobs in a mainframe (MVS) environment.
Knowledge of IBM mainframe operations and associated peripheral equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
One (1) year of full-time experience as a Computer Operator in an MVS environment; OR
Associate’s degree in Computer Science or related field with equivalent practical experience.
Considerable knowledge of computer hardware operations, especially IBM mainframes.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Ability to follow complex instructions and maintain detailed records.
