AP/Payroll Clerk
Location: Bossier City, LA
Pay: $17/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm
Type: Temp-to-Full-Time (TTFT)
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced AP/Payroll Clerk to handle payroll processing and accounts payable functions for a busy office in Bossier City. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and proficient in QuickBooks and Excel, with a strong understanding of payroll and accounting principles.
Responsibilities:
Collect and enter employee payroll documentation into QuickBooks
Maintain payroll information in Excel, including employee details, rates of pay, and hours worked
Update payroll records with changes in pay rates, exemptions, insurance coverage, job titles, and transfers
Receive and verify time sheets and pay employees based on verified reports
Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
Respond to payroll inquiries and requests while maintaining confidentiality
Ensure compliance with payroll policies, procedures, and regulations
Receive and verify expense reports; reconcile financial reports with account balances and office records
Process vendor payments, verify federal ID numbers, review purchase orders, and resolve discrepancies
Ensure outstanding obligations are credited upon payment and identify discount opportunities
Reconcile monthly statements and assist with maintaining accounting ledgers
Record, verify, and distribute petty cash
Perform other payroll and accounts payable duties as needed
Qualifications:
Previous experience in payroll and accounts payable required
Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
