Job Title: Church Administrative Secretary

Pay: $24.00 per hour

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Location: Bossier City, LA 

About the Role:

We are seeking a dependable, faith-driven Church Administrative Secretary to join our ministry team. This full-time, temp-to-hire position is responsible for the administrative needs of the church and providing high-level support to the Pastor, staff, and Leadership Council. The right candidate will be a proactive and compassionate professional with strong organizational skills and a heart for ministry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for the church office; greet visitors and answer phones in a warm, professional manner
  • Support the Pastor and church leadership through scheduling, communication, and administrative duties
  • Maintain accurate church records, including membership, attendance, and life events (baptisms, marriages, etc.)
  • Coordinate communication across departments and with the congregation, ensuring timely updates via email, print, and digital formats
  • Assist with church reporting, including contributing to the annual audit
  • Attend staff and monthly Leadership Council meetings, taking minutes and supporting follow-up as needed
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the church office and ensure coverage during business hours
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion in all church matters
  • Collaborate with ministry leaders and volunteers to support events and initiatives
  • Use Microsoft Office Suite and church-specific software (training provided) to complete all administrative tasks efficiently
  • May provide oversight to staff or volunteer administrative support

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Business or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of administrative experience (church or ministry setting a plus)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with staff, church members, and the community
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and willing to learn additional church-related programs
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Knowledge of basic HR functions is a plus
  • Must be punctual, dependable, and exhibit integrity in all interactions
  • A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and alignment with the church’s mission and values

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree
  • 5 plus years of Administrative Assistant experience
