Job Title: Church Administrative Secretary
Pay: $24.00 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

About the Role:
We are seeking a dependable, faith-driven Church Administrative Secretary to join our ministry team. This full-time, temp-to-hire position is responsible for the administrative needs of the church and providing high-level support to the Pastor, staff, and Leadership Council. The right candidate will be a proactive and compassionate professional with strong organizational skills and a heart for ministry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for the church office; greet visitors and answer phones in a warm, professional manner
- Support the Pastor and church leadership through scheduling, communication, and administrative duties
- Maintain accurate church records, including membership, attendance, and life events (baptisms, marriages, etc.)
- Coordinate communication across departments and with the congregation, ensuring timely updates via email, print, and digital formats
- Assist with church reporting, including contributing to the annual audit
- Attend staff and monthly Leadership Council meetings, taking minutes and supporting follow-up as needed
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the church office and ensure coverage during business hours
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion in all church matters
- Collaborate with ministry leaders and volunteers to support events and initiatives
- Use Microsoft Office Suite and church-specific software (training provided) to complete all administrative tasks efficiently
- May provide oversight to staff or volunteer administrative support
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Business or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years of administrative experience (church or ministry setting a plus)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with staff, church members, and the community
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and willing to learn additional church-related programs
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Knowledge of basic HR functions is a plus
- Must be punctual, dependable, and exhibit integrity in all interactions
- A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and alignment with the church’s mission and values
