Job Description: Accounting Manager - Food & Beverage Department

Overview: The Accounting Manager for the Food & Beverage Department will oversee and coordinate the general accounting function for all related operations. This role is responsible for performing both routine and non-routine accounting tasks with significant involvement in the month-end close process and balance sheet reviews, working directly under the supervision of the Director of Finance.
Key Responsibilities:
General Ledger Management: Ensure the accuracy of the Food & Beverage locations' general ledger.
Balance Sheet Reviews: Review Food & Beverage balance sheets monthly with location managers to ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and contractual obligations.
Day-to-Day Accounting Support: Assist Food & Beverage accounts with daily accounting activities, including cash and banking, accounts payable processing, reconciliations, and related activities.
Month-End Reporting: Responsible for preparing and reporting monthly operating results to the Director of Facility Accounting with variance explanations.
Financial Statements Preparation: Supervise the preparation of monthly financial statements, ensuring GAAP compliance and adherence to contractual obligations.
Financial Reporting Packages: Assist the Director of Finance in developing and implementing standardized financial reporting packages and provide ad-hoc analysis and reports as needed.
Field Support: Provide both direct and indirect support to field personnel, solving complex accounting issues and improving the quality and timeliness of information.
Financial Review with Directors: Review financial statements with Food & Beverage Directors of Finance and provide summaries to corporate finance staff on the financial impact and activity.
Internal Audits: Assist with corporate reporting and conduct internal audits to ensure internal controls are maintained across field locations.
Audit Coordination: Coordinate with field personnel for outside audits, ensuring compliance with contractual stipulations.
Tax Filings & Renewals: Oversight of tax filings and liquor license renewals.
Reporting Package Evaluation: Evaluate monthly financial statement closing packages for policy compliance and client contractual obligations.
Event Settlements: Assist with or perform event settlements as necessary.
Special Projects: Participate in special projects as required by management.
Transition Assistance: Assist with the transition of new Food & Beverage accounts.
Qualifications:
Education: B.S. in Accounting or Finance from a 4-year college/university or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of work experience in public accounting or financial management at a supervisory level or as a department head.
Food & Beverage Experience: Preferred but not required.
Skills:
Internal Controls ExperienceProficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Extensive knowledge of general and cost accounting, as well as inventory controls.
