Experienced Service Dispatcher

Pay Rate: $16.63/hr

Location: Shreveport, LA

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM -11:00 PM, or 11:00 pm - 8:00 am (Must train for all shifts)

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

We are seeking an Experienced Service Dispatcher to coordinate maintenance and emergency response operations in a fast-paced utility environment. The ideal candidate will have strong computer skills, dispatching experience, and the ability to respond effectively to emergencies while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. YOU MUST HAVE EXCELLENT COMPUTER SKILLS AND DISPATCHING EXPERIENCE. 

• Dispatch Operations: Coordinate the dispatch of crews and resources for maintenance, repair, and emergency response. Ensure timely and effective resolution of issues affecting water quality, pressure, and sewerage system functionality. 
• Emergency Response: Act as a primary point of contact for emergency situations such as water main breaks, sewer overflows, or contamination incidents. Coordinate with emergency response teams, utility crews, and other relevant departments to manage and mitigate these situations. 
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, system performance data, and incident reports. Ensure documentation complies with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  
• Customer Communication: Communicate with customers, addressing their concerns regarding water supply, quality issues, or service disruptions. Provide information and updates during emergency situations. 
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure operations are in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding water and wastewater treatment and distribution. 
• Training and Development: Participate in training sessions and stay updated on the latest technologies and practices in water and sewerage system management.

• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with teams and communicate with the public. 
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly assess and respond to complex situations. 
• Availability: Must be available for shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to ensure 24/7 coverage

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required

• 2+ years of dispatching experience, preferably in utilities

• Excellent computer skills 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities

• Availability for shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays

• Proficiency in computer systems and dispatching software

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2+ years of Dispatching Experience
