Location: Shreveport, LA
Salary Range: $96,000 - $107,000 DOE

Job Overview: We are seeking an early-career Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to develop, implement, and drive accountability for EHS initiatives within the company. This role will focus on aligning with corporate policies, enhancing processes, and fostering an incident-free workplace. The ideal candidate will work closely with teams, monitor safety practices, mentor staff, and promote a culture of safety excellence while focusing on continuous growth with the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of EHS initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate policies and safety standards.
  • Foster an incident-free environment by actively mentoring teams, conducting regular safety monitoring, and providing ongoing training and development opportunities for staff.
  • Manage and investigate workplace incidents, ensuring proper documentation, root cause analysis, and follow-up actions.
  • Oversee EHS staff, encouraging continuous development and enhancing the overall performance of the team.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, conducting regular audits and reporting on trends related to safety and environmental performance.
  • Implement strategies and action plans to mitigate unsafe conditions and behaviors, reducing workplace hazards and improving safety metrics.
  • Analyze safety and environmental data, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and report trends to senior management.
  • Collaborate with HR, finance, and senior management to develop and align risk management, training, and audit strategies.
  • Maintain open communication and strong relationships across departments to ensure safety and compliance are integrated into day-to-day operations.
  • Assess engineering team performance metrics and identify improvements that increase factory utility and overall efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or related field (required, no exceptions).
  • 1-3 years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety or a related field, ideally with direct exposure to workplace safety and environmental compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, environmental laws, and industry best practices.
  • Experience with incident management, investigations, and root cause analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to mentor and lead a small team, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in tracking and reporting safety and environmental data.
  • Ability to assess and improve processes, systems, and performance metrics.
