Job Title: CNC Threading Operator
Pay Rate: $21.27/hr
General Purpose of Position:
CNC operator capable of safely and efficiently performing in a threading shop production environment with limited supervision. This position is responsible for manufacturing precision threaded connections at high volumes in accordance with governing specifications.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Retrieve job-related information (job routings, part drawing, tool list, work-instruction, in-process inspection sheet).
- Complete manufacturing of the first part per process instruction.
- Operate CNC lathes including set-ups / changeovers, offset adjustments, part program selection, change of inserts, tooling, etc.
- Proficient in the use of standard thread-gauging devices.
- Inspect and document parts according to in-process inspection sheet requirements.
- Troubleshoot parts, equipment, and tooling when issues occur.
- Document completion of all required processes by QMS system
- Demonstrate basic manufacturing line knowledge and participate in process improvement.
- Achieve production output and quality per standards.
- Complete tasks as assigned with limited supervision.
- Assists machine lockouts and tag outs and performs operative maintenance (cooling fluid, machine adjustments, etc.)
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follow prescribed safety procedures.
- Participate in the execution of housekeeping programs required to ensure facility cleanliness.
- Provide an end-of-shift report detailing activities of the shift.
- Provide hands-on assistance and support as needed for maintenance personnel.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Work Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial manufacturing and operational activities.
- 2 years of experience setting up and operating CNC milling and/or turning machines.
- Seamless Pipe Mill experience preferred.
- Seamless Tube Threading Shop experience preferred.
- Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems experience.
- LOTO experience.
- Ability to read technical drawings.
- Experience using measuring tools and gauges.
- Experience with Mitsubishi Control with CELOS MAPPS operating system preferred.
- Experience with DMG MORI machines preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in the use of measurement tools, including dial indicators, calipers, and micrometers.
- Intermediate arithmetic skills, critical thinking skills, and the ability to read measuring equipment and procedures.
- Experience operating shop power tools, including manual lathes, mills, and grinders.
- Experience with the use of simple tools, fasteners, torque, and good math skills is preferred.
- Ability to read drawings and diagrams with the ability to fabricate parts that meet drawing specifications preferred.
- Experience turning/threading API products (BTC, LTC) Preferred
- Intermediate computer skills preferred.

- Combination of frequent possible sitting/standing/walking/climbing stairs from 8 to 12 hours- depending on shift.
- Pushing/pulling is occasionally required.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- General working conditions include exposure to heat, cold, and noise with all PPE requirements adhered to.
- Work may be performed around rotating equipment, steel decking stairs, and walkways.
- Visual acuity minimum 20/20 corrected or uncorrected, minimum J1 for nearsightedness, and must pass color blindness test.
