Welding Instructors (1 SHV and 1 Minden), part time, evenings M-Th, $25/hr. Possibility of going FT once census increases.
POSITION SPECIFIC DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Develop and deliver comprehensive welding curriculum covering techniques such as MIG, TIG, Stick, and Arc welding.
• Conduct lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on training sessions in a classroom and workshop environment.
• Assess student performance through projects, tests, and practical evaluations.
• Ensure all safety protocols are followed in the welding lab.
• Stay updated on industry standards, technologies, and best practices in welding and fabrication.
• Provide individualized support and mentorship to students, fostering their growth and development.
• Collaborate with faculty and industry partners to enhance curriculum and job placement opportunities.
• Maintain equipment and tools in the welding lab to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.
• Significant experience in welding and metal fabrication, with proficiency in multiple welding processes.
• Previous teaching or training experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of welding codes and standards.
• Familiarity with advanced welding technologies and equipment.
Associate degree in the discipline OR Technical diploma OR demonstrable competencies (see examples below); AND a minimum of two years of relevant full-time experience. (Competency can be gained through a combination of formal education, apprentice programs, work or teaching experience, professional performance in the subject area, industry-based certifications, Career and Technical Trade & Industrial Education (*CTTIE) secondary teaching certifications, and/or qualifications set by the licensing or accrediting organization for the subject area.)
