JOB SUMMARY:
The Security Manager is responsible for overseeing the physical security operations, managing security personnel and security assets. The Security Manager’s role is to protect the organization’s employees, customers, visitors, contractors, and all other assets by developing, implementing and maintaining necessary security strategies and protocols.
JOB DUTIES:
- Oversee and conduct all security activities in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Continually evaluate and optimize security operations to ensure that company always has a safe and secure campus.
- Manage and oversee guard house operations and security guard patrol procedures to effectively ensure security compliance.
- Respond to security incidents and emergencies. Conduct investigations into security breaches and prepare reports through EHS. Collaborate with local law enforcement as needed.
- Oversee the operation of security systems, including video surveillance, access control and alarm systems. Stay abreast of latest technological advancements and propose necessary upgrades.
- Maintain extensive working knowledge and understanding of perimeter and fire alarm panels.
- Establish and maintain a periodic inspection program of facilities to assure compliance with security protocols.
- Develop new training programs for security personnel utilizing current industry standards and emerging technologies.
- Manage and coordinate department planning and operations through supervision and evaluation of security staff. Develop team members by training and coaching them on additional skills while providing constructive feedback and developing leadership skills.
- Participate in emergency preparedness development and implementation for the campus.
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to safety and never compromise company’s expectation of a safe workplace.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Homeland Security, Security Management, Emergency Response, or relevant discipline with at least two (2) years of supervisory experience in a facility security or emergency response role.
Or
Minimum of five (5) years of experience with at least two (2) years in a supervisory/leadership role in facilities security, equivalent military or law enforcement or emergency response experience. Recent industrial facility security experience is preferred. Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations regarding security.
- Proven ability to communicate across different levels of the organization and beyond, including contractors, external vendors and customers.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with directors and managers.
- Must possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be able to assess situations quickly, think clearly and exhibit good judgement and decision-making in a rapidly changing environment.
- Proven ability to multi-task and maintain work focus with frequent interruptions.
- Extensive knowledge of security procedures, patrol and investigation techniques with the ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
- Available for stand-by/on-call duty on nights, weekends, holidays, and after normal business hours.
- Requires work in both office and outdoor environments, day and evening, exposed to year-round weather conditions, uneven terrain and noise.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Will be assessed.
$66,150+ DOE, Full Suite of Benefits, Work 12-hour shifts, 7 days on/7 days off (42 hours/week)
