We are seeking a Medical Scheduler for a medical office in Shreveport, LA. You must have at least 5 years of work experience in a leadership role, preferably in a medical office setting, and knowledge of medical terminology.

General Summary of Duties:
- Oversee daily operations in the Scheduling and HIM Department
- Manages the schedule in the practice electronic health record and scheduling program.
- Works directly with 3rd party vendors (ex: Momentum, SMDS, Kings)
- Provides analytics for review of both department’s production
- Coordinates work schedules for Scheduling and HIM staff
- Reviews and approves time for payroll and approves time-off requests.
- Supervise daily activity of the staff to ensure all incoming and outgoing calls are handled with the desired level of service.
- Monitor workflows to ensure assigned tasks are handled in a timely manner.
- Communicates relevant information to the Director of Business Operations and staff, to maintain and manage workflows.
- Assist with orientation of new personnel, training, mentoring, and coaching.
- Schedules/prepares and actively participates in Scheduling Committee Meetings
- Prepares master schedule and builds correlating assignments in the EHR.
- Uses problem-solving and conflict resolution skills when handling patient complaints; and communicates those to administration as appropriate.
- Maintains a cooperative relationship with staff by communicating information, and responding to requests, while building inter-departmental rapport.
- Assists with establishing policies and procedures for the distribution and use of medical records.
- Ensures timely filing, processing, and routing of incoming documents to appropriate staff/departments.
- Oversees release of medical records adhering to practice policy.
- Attends scheduled staff and departmental meetings.
