Machinist

We are seeking an Experienced Machinist for a company in Haughton, LA. Previous welding experience is a huge plus (but it is not required). 

Pay: $20.25/hr-$27.25/hr DOE

POSITION SUMMARY: 

To machine, inspect, and produce manufactured products per operating procedures and instructions.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Perform complex manual machining
• Understand and operate machines, tooling, and measuring equipment properly and safely
• Read/understand basic blueprints
• Basic math skills
• Effective communication skills and ability to work as a team with coworkers
• Follow written and verbal instructions
• Work independently with help as needed
• Regular attendance is essential

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Able to use specialized equipment including manual machines and measuring tools
• 5-10 years experience in manual machining
• Basic product knowledge and programming skills
• Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, and stairs and work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment regularly.
• Must be able to wear appropriate PPE, including but not limited to: safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots, and other equipment regularly.
• Ability to lift/move up to 50-100 pounds regularly.
• Ability to stand for 8 or more hours daily/regularly.
• Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl regularly.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
• While performing the duties of this position, the technician is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, and electrical equipment in both high and low voltage/amperage ranges, and occasionally exposed to high places, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally high.
