Senior Designer

Job Description

Ability to produce very high-quality design packages for construction with very minimal supervision. Must be able to communicate effectively with project managers with limited civil/structural knowledge and develop scope that meets the client’s expectations and provides a cost-effective solution
Self-motivated, self-starter
Ability to effectively manage project responsibilities, knowing when to request additional resources to complete project work within client deadlines
Identifies issues with designs and communicates issues with senior designers and engineers as they arise
Attends project update meetings with both clients and team members
Assists the design team in the coordination with external and internal contacts such as owners, architects, MEP disciplines, and CADD designers
Communicates with team members, project managers, other disciplines, and outside vendors to obtain necessary information on drawings
Assists in data collection and/or field verification
Assists with the upkeep of project design and construction files
Learns to review shop drawings, record changes, and keep all disciplines informed of details and schedules
Assists in the training and mentoring of team members

Skills / Qualifications:

Minimum 6 years of experience in industrial design
Proficient with AutoCAD 2-D and Microsoft Office
Minimum two-year technical degree
Capable of reading and interpreting plans from other disciplines (i.e., structural, civil, plumbing, electrical, mechanical)
A demonstrated ability to perform system or project designs with only general technical supervision from the engineering staff
An ability to supervise less experienced design team members and work within a design team environment
Experience with the Autodesk Revit software platform is a plus

Salary: $60,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
