Senior Supply Chain Manager

Location: Atlanta, GA
Starting Pay: $90,000–$110,000 per year, Monday-Friday 1st shift (on-call/available when issues or emergencies arise)

Responsibilities

  • Lead, plan, and oversee daily operations for all supply chain functions, including storeroom, mobile medical equipment, and supply distribution.
  • Develop and implement advanced supply distribution processes and inventory controls to ensure efficient delivery of products across the organization.
  • Maintain adequate inventory levels while balancing carrying and storage costs, ensuring timely availability of supplies for clinicians and patients.
  • Ensure compliance with inventory tracking regulations and best practices and manage the timely delivery of implantable and other critical products.
  • Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives using LEAN principles, focusing on cost-effective and efficient material processes.
  • Oversee disaster supply management and readiness, including product standardization and operational plans for point-of-use systems.
  • Develop, direct, and enforce departmental policies, procedures, and goals in alignment with hospital needs.
  • Supervise and train staff, ensuring ongoing education and compliance with departmental standards.
  • Develop and manage department budgets, operating within established targets.
  • Establish performance metrics, improve productivity, and leverage technology for optimal logistics and material management outcomes.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration with hospital executives, department heads, suppliers, and clinical leaders to support operational and fiscal objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
  • 2–4 years of managerial experience in a healthcare environment required.
  • Extensive knowledge of supply chain logistics, inventory management, and process improvement techniques preferred.
  • Strong strategic thinking, project management, and financial acumen.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Certifications such as Project Management, Lean Six Sigma, or Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP) are a plus.

Essential Functions

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods and occasionally move about the facility to access supplies and equipment.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.
  • Frequently communicates with staff and leadership, requiring the ability to exchange accurate information.
  • Must be able to move and transport materials weighing up to 45 lbs.
  • Ability to analyze data, handle multiple assignments, and adapt to changing priorities.

Work Environment

  • Primarily works indoors in an office and hospital environment but may occasionally be exposed to warehouse and storeroom conditions.
  • Regular exposure to equipment, inventory areas, and hospital operational settings.
  • May occasionally work in environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, or lighting conditions.
  • Works closely with others and may sometimes need to access storage areas or equipment in less accessible locations.
