Manufacturing Engineer (Onsite): In this role, the candidate will design and develop manufacturing processes for products, taking in consideration problems inherent in the aftermarket production. Such design and development may include existing or revised processes. The candidate will also develop procedures for the economical production, repair, and overhaul in cooperation with MRO plant and production departments. In addition, the candidate will conduct tests and measurements throughout stages of production to determine control over applicable variables; and services, troubleshoots and solves production process problems with processes or equipment already in operation. The responsibility includes the troubleshooting and maintenance of testing equipment (electrical, hydraulic, electronic controls, and software). Previous work experience troubleshooting and maintaining testing equipment. CAD modeling experience preferred. Define optimum LRU configuration • Define optimum work scope and build standard for existing products • Review failure data, cost, and parts usage, across the repair site • Make decisions and recommendations based on this data review • Provide in-house advocacy for newly developed parts repairs/processes approval by Service Engineering and Collins Miramar Management. • Analyze removal causes and develop corrective actions • Optimize on-wing life for LRU by review of CMM and SAP data • Review shop visit data and provide recommendations to optimize the shop visit rate for LRU • Work with Service Engineering to develop new product workscopes based on data • Work in a team environment with Service Engineering, Program Engineering, Repair Engineering, FlightSense Technical Advisors, and Miramar Repair shop to optimize product reliability, maximize economical parts usage, and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction • Provide status to Management and Miramar Site Teams of top cost reduction initiatives in process • Maintain proficiency in assigned SAP products • Review shop and testing practices • Issue repair shop troubleshooting recommendations • Review receiving inspection and provides test verification recommendations • Provide recommendations for parts scrap, reuse, replacement, rework, and repair determination • Review component repair work • Perform failure and test reject analysis • Develop and reviews parts rework and repair procedures • Track, review, and analyze unit reliability • Provide shop training as required. Provides initial and recurrent shop technical and process flow training as required • Provide quality, product, and reliability improvement recommendations to the Engineering Manager • Optimize shop parts usage versus component reliability to assure Miramar repair site goals are met • Coordinate overall product line (Miramar repair shop) issues as required • Participate as a member of the implementation team for new product or customer programs • Perform and maintain active role in Financial Analysis of programs and implementation of corrective actions where required to achieve established program financial goals • Develop and maintains proficiency in the computer software required to perform the job functions. • Provide technical support to the Quality department and to the Quality Manager, regarding compliance issues • Provide technical support to the EH&S department regarding issues related to the environment, health, and safety • CAD modelling experience is preferred |
